Américo Dias

This was mainly due to his high skills as circuit designer, layouter, and the fact that he was a good colleague. As manager of the project, I experienced how Américo delivered high quality work, managed his own work so well that he soon started coordinating larger deliverables from the layout team in India. Americo worked with an effort that was far beyond expectations.

All of his work was noticeably organized, such that he could make complicated systems straight forward and expandable. He joined the Emerson Downhole E&D team in Stavanger a few months after me, and his friendly demeanour and our common trait of being expats, made him easy to get along with in and out of the office. He would always make time to explain and teach, and was a constant source of encouragement and positivity within the team. I really appreciated his ability to calmly speak his mind, and give constructive no-nonsense input. Americo's rapid ability to develop accurate analog and electromagnetic simulations make him an invaluable technical asset. His simulations were always very well structured, with the appropriate amount of hands-on verification to ensure their accuracy. His attention to detail and pragmatic approach, resulted in variable designs that maintained meaningful fidelity; providing the foundation for faster circuit design, product development, improved cost effective features, and reduced field issues. Americo's professionalism and aptitude make him a guaranteed success for any electrical design team.
